What to wear for your photoshoot

So you’ve booked your shoot, you’re excited, ready to have awesome photos taken and…….oh, what are you going to wear?

Don’t worry, I’ve got you- here is some of my tips to help you choose and outfit or even multiple outfits to get the very best out of your Photoshoot.

1. Consider the season

I don’t just mean dress for the warm/cold but I mean consider everything about the season, the colours, the weather, the mood. A warm, neutral or cosy feel will suit an autumn shoot, where you can go a little lighter and brighter in the spring and summer.

2. Dress as yourself!

This may seem obvious but we‘ve all googled and searched on Pinterest to find the perfect outfit, but is it you? If your style is sparkly dungarees and DMs then you do you! Your style shows your personality and you’ll ultimately feel more comfortable in front of the camera. Don’t wear something that’s not ‘you’ our uniqueness makes the world go round!

3. You don’t have to match every person in the group

For family shoots, it’s tempting to match your whole family in one colour scheme or even almost matching outfits. If that’s the road you want to go down I’m here for it BUT I’m here to tell you, you can wear outfits that compliment each other without going full on matchy matchy! Think of the tones and colour pallet you’d like to see in your photos, you could choose neutral shades, warm or cool tones or dark or light colours. Everyone is different and your shoot should show the real you!

4. If in doubt- contact your photographer!

Its what we are here for! Ok so I’m not going to tell you what to wear but it’s great to communicate with your tog if you‘re having trouble choosing what to wear. We can set up Pinterest boards or show you client gallery’s you can even send pics of your outfit choices!

All in all, be yourself (unless it’s a cosplayer shoot then mos definitely come as the hulk, Loki and/or Captain America)

The best way to get the best photos is to feel happy, comfortable and confident- let’s do this!!!
